Romney Takes the High Road as Newt Dreams Big

In the end, former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney did about as well as expected: He won the Florida Republican primary by 14 percentage points, in line with what the polls predicted.

He won actual majorities in South Florida and approached the 50% threshold in Tampa Bay. He beat his principal opponent, former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, by 20 percentage points among women and Hispanics, two key constituencies. He even made it close among evangelicals.
