On Saturday the US military suffered its deadliest day ever in Afghanistan when 30 US servicemen were killed as the Taliban shot down a Chinook helicopter in a remote area.
The dead included 22 members of the elite Navy SEAL Team 6, which was involved in the killing of Osama bin Laden. Reportedly none of those killed had taken part in that mission.
